That moment

Today I had a “that moment” when I watched a rescue trust for the first time, the look in her eyes was once again soft no more tension no hatred… just pure love and confidence it was amazing to see her finally come around … my 4 year old was in the pasture today playing in the sprinkler and she stood watching him for over an hour ears up and attention was all on him… as she was watching him I was watching her… wondering what was going through her mind … she keep inching her self closer to him and I was about 3 feet from him… it took her a very long time one step at a time and she would stop an stare at him … i wonder if she was scared or if she would charge us but she didnt… I could see the difference in her stance the difference in her eyes and I could all most feel her relaxing as she inched closer to him … she was a mean mare that hated water she just had so much pinned up hurt and anger she lashed out at everyone near… but this time she was different she was relaxed she was focused on him … as the sprinkler started her way I was sure she would bolt she hated water but this time she let it hit her… I was shocked as my little boy played in the water she didnt flinched she just inched closer to him just as I went to reach out for him he reached for her … and oh my gosh she let him and she slowly inched close to where her head was down beside him … I almost cried she trusted him and he had no fear of her normally he knows to stay away from them he would run to us when they even got with in the water area… but this time it was different he didnt and she didnt … she stood as still as she could but would engaged with him with her head only … my heart stopped with the sun setting over the field she had bonded with him… she was so calm so relaxed it was amazing… I dont no her story no one knew who she was she didnt even come in with a name… but today it’s all changed …. always beth
